8 mood-boosting Instagram accounts to follow

Research tells us that being on Instagram can be harmful for your mental health. If you're already on the platform, we've put together a list of the best accounts to follow for wellbeing, giving you a positive boost, and some great advice to scroll through.

1. Motivation Mondays

Does what it says on the tin - motivation quotes for every week.

2. The Mind of Mary

One of the most creative, thoughtful and inspiring accounts out there, Maryam Clark doodles her simple but powerful messages in her own unique style. 

3. Action Happiness

A great place to go when you need some quick inspiration and some life truths, Action For Happiness is a treasure trove of quotes, reminders, and sayings that provide the kind of life advice you'd expect from someone who loves you.

4. Crazy Head Comics

'Swedish girl making art about mental illness', sounds like a great idea, but it's only when you read through the self care tips, reminders that you can make it through, and honesty about trauma, that you realise how profound some of these posts are.

5. The PlanetD

These two travellers share epic pictures of nature to still the heart and quiet the mind. There is something therapeutic about nature, but does it count if it's a digital version of the real thing?

6. Muslim Youth Helpline

Well, we had to include it somewhere! Check this account out for inspirational quotes, reminders, tips on wellbeing, and news related to mental health.

7. Good Life Project

This podcast is a great pick me up, and the Insta account gives you snippets of inspiring conversation and reminders like 'Your value is not based on your productivity'.

8. The Blurt Foundation

Run by an organisation dedicated to helping those with depression, this account shares tips, quotes, and artwork by various artists illustrating their ideas for getting through the day.
